BINGHAM, Martha Elizabeth
James T. Cochran married Martha Elizabeth Bingham in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, in 1851. Elias Bingham married Mary Cochran in 1851 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. Mary Cochran's and James T. Cochran's parents were James and Anna Campbell Cochran who migrated from Morgan County, Georgia, and Harris County, Georgia, to Tallapoosa County, Alabama. Sometime between 1855 and 1858 the Cochrans and Binghams migrated to Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. I am interested in more information about these families. We haven't been able to find out who the parents of Martha Elizabeth Bingham and Elias Bingham were. Thank you.

LEE, William Honley
William Honley Lee Birth 01 feb 1833 in Georgia, USA Death 15 aug 1862 in Alabama, USA . He married Susan Irene Veazy 22 Mar 1859 in Tallapoosa. On the 1860 Census they are living in Tallapoosa. William died in 1862 (we have no information on where he is buried). My assumption (but based on no evidence) is he probably died in the Civil War.

Moses Theodore Lee Born Jul. 18, 1844 in Georgia and Died 15 Jan 1915 in Sherman, Grayson, Texas, USA he was the Husband of Susan Irene Veazey Lee, father of Emma Lula, Mattie Florence,Ada Mollie, Lora Unice, Willie Jean, & Robert Early Curtis Lee. Step father of John David Lee & Elizabeth Honley Lee. He & Irene & family came to Texas (Bell County) around 1883. His wife, Susan, was first married to his brother, William Honley Lee, who died in 1862.

Susan Irene Rena Veazey Lee Born Dec. 29, 1844 in Alabama (perhaps Tallapoosa) she died Mar. 18, 1930 Aspermont,Stonewall County, Texas, USA Irene is the daughter of John Hart & Elizabeth Thomas Veazey. Mother of John David & Elizabeth Lee by her first husband, William Honley Lee. She is the mother of Emma Lula, Mattie Florence,Ada Mollie, Lora Unice, Willie Jean, & Robert Early Curtis by her second husband, Moses Theodore Lee, brother of her first husband. She came to Texas around 1883.

Irene is in the 1860 census as living in Tallapoosa county. She married Moses in 1866, and they are shown to live in Hackneyville in the 1870 and 1880 census.

What we are trying to do is find any more information on the Lee family. Obituaries, news stories, family bible, anything. Also, if you have any information on William Honley Lee I would be interested in that as well. I am trying to find Moses and Williams parents so we can continue to trace back the family tree, but I have not been able to get past this roadblock, and I am hoping that perhaps you may have some information that might assist in this search.

Please contact Jarrod Cunningham with any information. 10/10/2012

My grandmother did make several trips in the last 20 years before she died, to Mississppi and/or Alabama. Appreciate any help or suggestions from anyone. Thank you.

WHATLEY Family
Researching the Whatley family. I have recently discovered a damaged but original letter from George Whatley in Dadeville to his brother John W. Whatley M.D. in Texas. It appears to be c. 1890 as it gives some details on a bad train wreck on the Savannah & Western railroad which I believe to have happened Jan. 1890 two miles from Camp Hill. I would be happy to provide a copy to whoever is managing this site now. If anyone has information on this family, I would be happy to have it. It appears that most of the Whatley siblings were born in the Dadeville area.
Please contact Kathryn Whatley with any information. 7/17/2014
